Biography:
As A Collegian: 2007: Matt won his second National Championship, and was named the championship game’s Most Outstanding Player as he scored a game-high five goals and added one assist. Matt was selected as a USILA second-team All-American Attackman and a first-team All-Conference Attackman in the Capital Athletic Conference. He was second on the team in goals (75) and points (94), first in shots on goal (121) and fourth in assists (19). Salisbury University had a 23-0 record in the 2008. Matt scored 6 or more points in five games that season.
2008: Matt won his third National Championship in his senior season with Salisbury University. He was a USILA first-team All-American Attackman and a first-team All-Conference Attackman in the Capital Athletic Conference. Matt was second in Division III in total points for the 2008 season. He led Salisbury in goals (61), points (94), shots on goal (118) and was second on the team in assists (33), as well as started in every game. He is eighth all-time in career goals for Salisbury University. The 2008 season ended with a 22-0 record, in which Matt scored 6 or more points in five of those games. He concluded his collegiate career with a record of 85 wins and 1 loss.
Personal: Son of John and Narcy Hickman. Matt is a Physics major at Salisbury University. He has one sister, Meredith, who attends the University of Maryland. Matt graduated from Georgetown Prep and was their leading scorer his senior year. He was as a First Team All-Met selection on attack. He was also a four year Varsity wrestler and senior captain. |
